Thermoset Materials
Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU)- Available in a wide range of durometers, TPU materials offer the same advantages that thermosetting polyurethanes offer. Ester, ether, and polycaprolactone grades are available. Specialty types offer higher resistance to heat and compression set. FDA and NSF grades available.
Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR)- Thermoplastic analogs of standard rubber materials. Usually TPR materials offer improved chemical resistance at the cost of poorer mechanical properties.
Thermoplastic Esters (TPE)- Similar to TPU materials, TPE offers improved heat resistance and compression set resistance at the cost of higher stiffness, and less sealing ability.
Nylon- A common engineering material that has outstanding physical toughness and strength.
Polyacetal Resins- Acetals offer very hard materials with high structural strength. Polyacetal offers very good abrasion resistance and good lubricity with very low flexibility.
